Coffee Table to Coffee Table Ottoman Diy Project

I found this old Coffee table on FB marketplace and thought I’d give it an update. We recently bought a new sofa so we needed an ottoman and what I was finding to purchase just wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. So, enter another DIY project.
Materials Needed:
- Old coffee table
- Palm Sander
- Sand Paper
- 3 inch upholstery foam
- Spray adhesive
- Fabric
- Fabric Batting
- Staple Gun
- Upholstery ribbon of some kind
- E6000 Glue

I decided on the color and sanded the entire table with a palm sander. This is the first coat.

I didn’t really worry too much about the top of the table because I knew I was going to put the ottoman part on top, but I had some extra paint so I painted the top as well. The color I used was called “Inked” by Behr in a satin finish.

I don’t have a pic but the handles were painted white so I sanded all of the paint off of the metal to reveal a pretty bronze gold color.

Here are the materials I used to complete the ottoman. I bought my fabric from JoAnn Fabrics.

I used the spray adhesive to attach the foam onto the table. I had this cut to size at the store I purchased it from.

I put the batting on top and cut to size.

I then put the fabric and cut to size.

I stapled the fabric to the table using many, many, many staples lol.

I didn’t like the rough edges so I decided to add a ribbon. I bought this fabric ribbon to glue to the fabric.

And all done! A good addition to our family room, I will say.
