Painting our Island Black

I was sick of how dirty our island constantly was getting from the kids, mostly, lol. This island is used every single day and the abuse was starting to show. So I decided to paint it BLACK. Its not a true black, more of a soft black.

This island was a DIY project from 5 years ago, so it needed refreshing. We also decided to add trim around it to make it look nicer.

The paint I used is Cracked Pepper by Behr.

How it looked before

Added the doors and drawers back

Painted the chairs too (this took forever!!)

Measuring the trim I painted. We used 1×4 pine boards.

Cut the corners with a miter saw like this one.

Using a nail gun to finish it up.

Then touched up the corners with caulk and paint.

The finished island!

I also spray painted the towl bar black.

All done! On to the next DIY project..
