My baby’s Nursery
I’d like to share my baby Jack’s nursery (even though he’s been around for 2 months already 🙈) It all started with a pair of old vintage dressers I acquired from my Grandma’s house this past summer. It is from the same set as the desk I re-did earlier this summer : A 50 year old desk gets an update. I also wanted a little pop of color in the room since I am resusing the crib from the girls. We have been using this room for the past year as an office, but finally have a partially finished office in the basement so we moved it down there (still a work in progress..)
I decided to do a yellow/navy color scheme with some slight nautical elements. I’m sure he’ll grow out of the yellow dressers sooon enough, but for now I like them!
Here is what the dressers (there are two identical ones) looked like before:
I used an orbital sander to sand everything–basically to rough up the surface so new paint can stick to it.
This is a closer look after I sanded everything.
I used Behr paint and primer in a satin sheen. I chose a pretty yellow color. Here is the result:
Another photo using a flash (to get an idea of the color).
Along with the dressers, I found some other details as well for the nursery. An anchor lamp to go along with the theme is from Target.
I found a paddle at Home Goods and repainted this chalkboard frame I had to match the dresser. Then, I had my daughter draw in chalk our family (all 5 of us!) I did help her a little…
My husband also purchased this really neat little nightlight/sound machine called the Hatch Baby Rest.
I found the side table at IKEA.
A pic of the entire nursery! (yes, he is in the crib in this pic)
