Before & After Ranch Remodel

I sold my sister her house less than a year ago, and they have been hard at work getting this home updated to the 21st century standards. They still have some work to do on the outside of the home and the kitchen, but the house is certainly livable now compared to what is was!

When we first walked in, this house smelled of skunk and 10 different brands of air freshener. Nauseating.  Really, really nauseating. And I was pregnant at the time, which made everything worse.  There were also 4 or 5 layers of wallpaper in pretty much every room, nasty old carpet, curtains straight out of the 1970s and of course, popcorn ceilings.  But, a diy-ers dream right?  With a lot of literal sweat equity, they have ripped out the old carpeting to reveal lovely wood floors, taken down the layers of wallpaper, and figured out a way to get rid of the popcorn ceiling.

They still have the kitchen to do and the outside of the home to do. So, more before and afters when those are completed! I’m living vicariously through my sister because I would love to move out of our house into a fun diy project =)
